Dear Mr. Narendra Modi,
Prime Minister of India,
I appreciate your bold speech and honesty to hold Mr.Nehru responsible for agrarian crisis.
Indeed Mr.Nehru is responsible for agrarian crisis because he imposed socialism on farmers through series of Constitutional
Amendments since 18th June,1951.
By Constitution First Amendment Act, 1951 he inserted draconian article 31B (#न्यायबंदी) along with Schedule 9, under the pretext that it meant only for 13 Zamindari Abolition Acts.
However , he proved himself a liar, and betrayed the farmers by inserting additional
Anti- farmer laws in schedule 9, by 4th and 17th Constitution Amendment Acts in 1955 and 1964 respectively. He imposed agricultural land ceiling act, and essential commodities act on farmers. This way he took away all fundamental rights of farmers related to property and price. He banned farmers to seek judicial redress by use of art.31B.
Due to anti-farmer Land Ceiling Act, the number of farmers increased in the country.
But average land holding reduced considerably. In effect 85% farmers in the country became small and marginal farmers. (less than 2 acres holding).
Due to essential commodities act, farmers are not getting production cost also for their produce, as Essential Commodities Act,1955 controls price, production, processing, stocking , transporting, export and import of agri commodities. Due to this Act numbers of traders in market are far less than number of farmers. This creates ugly anomaly in agri market. This creates artificial anomaly in demand and supply of agri market.
So due to this anti farmer system, farmers incur loss. Due to continuous loss, farmers are trapped in debt. Hence they are committing suicide. 3,20,000 farmers committed suicide in last 3 decades. On an average 43 farmers are committing suicides daily.
So to stop the crisis in agriculture sector you have to act immediately. Because you know action speaks louder than words. Don’t waste your precious time on just criticizing Nehru.
Instead initiate the bill in Lok Sabha (House of the People) to repeal anti farmer draconian article 31B along with all anti farmer laws in Schedule 9, and save the farmers’ life, liberty and property.
Note article #31B is ugly anomaly in the Constitution of a country and exactly opposite to article 32 & Art.32 is heart and soul of the Constitution as declared by Dr.B R Ambedkar in Rajya sabha and Constituent Assembly respectively.
By repealing this anti farmer provisions from Constitution, you will be Hero of Farmers.
Don’t lose this golden opportunity.
